Bismarck Tower

The Bismarck Tower in Bad Lauterberg is an impressive monument in the southern Harz mountains. Built in 1904, the observation tower is located on the Kummelberg, around 536 meters above sea level. Surrounded by idyllic nature, the 15-metre-high tower offers a unique panoramic view of popular destinations such as the Großer Knollen, the Wurmberg or the Hanskühnenburg.

The adjacent Bismarck Tower forest restaurant invites you to enjoy regional dishes in a cozy atmosphere. Our tip: try the delicious thunderstorm cake. Another highlight is the small animal enclosure with a raccoon.

The tower is only around 2 kilometers from Bad Lauterberg town center in the Harz Mountains and can be reached via well-signposted hiking trails. It is not possible to drive there yourself, but you can take a cab from the Bismarck Tower for 25 euros per trip.
