Open studio “D. Hänsel”
At a glance
The artist Detlef Hänsel runs an open studio at Hauptstraße 236. All guests and tourists in Bad Lauterberg are cordially invited to visit.
Hänsel works mainly with kinetic art and has a preference for artificial machines:
“Inspired by the machine art of the Swiss sculptors Jean Tinguely and Bernhard Luginbühl, kinetic sculptures and art machines form the focus of my artistic work. Moving objects are important to me in order to expand the scope for expression and design. Old machine parts, parts from metal construction kits and broken children’s toys are my most important basic materials.”
“Niki & Jean Collaboration”
“This work is one of the “recording-sculptures”. These are small art machines in which the moving mechanics are realized with technology from metal construction kits, and in which children’s toys and figures of all kinds are assembled. Scenic sequences are produced via a timer, and an mp3 player plays a music track that matches the object.”
Hänsel has been a freelance artist since 1997 and is a member of the Bund Bildender Künstler für Niedersachsen e.V. (BBK).
His works are in demand among collectors and are presented nationally and internationally at exhibitions.
